The reigning 100 and 200 metre Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has set his sights on lowering his world records at the London Games, and becoming a “living legend” in the process.

The Jamaican, who also won a third gold medal in Beijing after his team blitzed the field to claim the 4×100 metres crown, wants to “amaze” the world and believes he can run a staggering 9.4 seconds in the 100 metres and just 19 seconds in the 200 metres.
The 25 year-old’s best competitive times are 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds in the 100 and 200 metres, respectively.
And the Olympic champion, who was disqualified from the World Athletics Championships 100m final last year after a false start, said: “If I dominate the Olympics, I’ll be a living legend. A living legend walking around. Sounds good.”
Speaking to BBC Sport Bolt continued: “People are looking forward to me running 9.4, 19 seconds, anything that’s amazing.
“So I’m working as hard as possible so I can go as fast as possible.”
“They want to see my personality, me enjoying it and doing crazy stuff, but they also want to see that time.
“The main thing for me is to defend my titles and win. I’m not worried about time but if I can go and run 9.4 that would be an honour for me because I want to amaze.”
