#TEAMLOOKGOODNAKED LAUNCHED!
By: Anquanette Gaspard
I’m sure that title caught your attention! It’s Anquanette here, back & better than ever! I’m still reeling from my latest carnival experience in J-A-M-A-I-C-A, Jamaica! If you tuned in to Sir Rockwell’s show last week, you were sure to hear me chat about my time spent in Kingston for carnival from the costume pickup to my day out at Lime Cay to my time on the road. Sir Rockwell decided that we should implement a carnival scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being horrible experience and 10 being the BESS TIME!!! Overall, I gave the Jamaica Carnival experience a 7 out of 10.
Today’s post was inspired by my time in Jamaica. #TEAMLOOKGOODNAKED is a movement where people from all over are committing to working out and eating right in an effort to “look good naked”! When I was on the road in Jamaica, I did not feel that I looked my best. I had slacked up on my working out, my eating habits were all but ideal prior to me leaving for my trip and it all showed (to me anyway) when I put on my costume. Now, someone might be saying. “Well, I thought carnival is all about freeing up yourself and letting loose?” This is true. I won’t ever take the spirit of carnival away from masqueraders. However, I like to look back on my pictures and comment on how my body looked in my costume! Now that’s a big pretty deal for me but this carnival did not have me shouting those words from the top of the music truck! Granted, everybody said it was all in my head and I need to stop it but I know what I look like naked and damn it, I can look better than that!
As a result, I’ve implemented my “master plan” as of today, Monday May 5th! I’ll be training five to six days a week, drinking a gallon of water a day, planning out my meals for each day for next 3 months to achieve my ultimate goal to “look good naked”! To help me remain on track, there will be no alcohol, no soca parties, no feteing, no boat rides, no pool parties, NO NOTHING! My mantra is Eat Clean. Train. Sleep. Repeat. All in the name of carnival! I am chronicling this process over on http://mylifemycomedy.com/category/health-welness/. You’ll get videos on my workouts, my meals, my ups and my downs.
Now, I’m not saying that you need to go as extreme as me but it would be great if you would come along. Commit to doing one or two things differently that you do now like drinking more water, cutting out sodas or limiting the sweets you have. What do you have to lose? We’ll be talking about this some more on Monday night’s show so get your comments ready and be sure to call in so we can chat it up on Da Real Rock Show!
