Lil Nas Makes history…

Lil Nas X Makes History As He Becomes The First Gay Black Man On Forbes’ “Highest Paid Country Acts” List

It’s safe to say that 2019 was the year of Lil Nas X, as he not only broke new musical ground with his record-breaking hit “Old Town Road,” he also continues to make history along the way. His latest accomplishment is courtesy of the annual Forbes list, where he just racked up some impressive firsts.

Lil Nas X dominated both the hip hop and country charts with “Old Town Road,” earning several award nominations—including this year’s Grammy’s—and is still shaking up the industry with a song that is several months old. As reported by @Forbes, Lil Nas X just made history as he is officially the first gay, black man to land on the “highest paid country acts” list in the outlets annual rankings.

Due to “Old Town Road” spending a record 19 weeks at number one on the Billboard singles chart, Lil Nas X, 20, debuted on the Forbes list of top-earning country acts of 2019 with an estimated pretax income of $14 million. This brings him at the number 18 spot on the list propelled by the massive 1.8 billion spins of the song despite being removed from the Billboard country charts. That removal actually helped the song gain an even broader audience, making it a phenomenon.

As for what’s next for Lil Nas X as we head into 2020? Well, he recently said that he has more in store for next year, so his fans should definitely be on the lookout for what’s to come.
