THERE was an impressive turnout for the premiere of the gospel movie, Just Another Friday, last Thursday at Redbones Blues Café in New Kingston.
Members of the cast and production team were joined by religious leaders to view the Easter drama which cost $300,000 to make.
The movie was written by Judith Falloon Reid-Brown and is based on a stage production first mounted at her Florida church over 10 years ago.
Its 12-member cast consists mainly of the Youth For Christ drama group, Acts 12.
“Over the years a number of initiatives have been taken by Jamaica Youth For Christ. This is meant to take ministry to the next level,” said Alfred McIntosh, chairman of Youth For Christ.
“This is ministry that can bring young people across into the light.”
McIntosh told the Jamaica Observer that the movie will be shown throughout the Caribbean and parts of the United States.
Just Another Friday was filmed in Ocho Rios at the home of Reid-Brown’s sister, and in Kingston at the Franklyn Town Church Of God.
The movie was shown Saturday at St John’s Methodist Church of Christ in Montego Bay, and yesterday at the Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Kingston.
