Thank you @DiaryRecords @IslandRecords & everybody involved with the project 💜

“‘Hello Happiness’ is an album which sets Chaka Khan’s timeless vocal to an empowering collection of songs with cutting-edge production,” according to the statement. “With an eye on the future and a respect for the past, Chaka Khan has delivered an album with the contemporary edge to entice newcomers to her world class talent and the quality to excite long-term fans.”

Khan began her professional career in 1973 as the lead singer of the funk band Rufus. Five years later, the Queen of Funk embarked on her solo career.

In 1984, with the release of “I Feel for You,” she became the first R&B artist to have a crossover hit featuring a rapper. During her nearly five-decade career, Khan has sold approximately 70 million records globally and has won 10 Grammy Awards.

The forthcoming album will be released on Diary Records / Island Records, a new label created by Major Lazer founder/producer Switch and artist/songwriter Sarah Ruba.

Hello Happiness will be released Feb. 15 and can be pre-ordered here. Check out the video for the infectious title single below.
