 Renee Bahadurlacells

Brand Manager/International Wines & Spirits/Angostura

Lascelles Wines & Spirits

How did you land the job?

Working for a leading telecoms provider for over six years, I was  ready for a new challenge, a new experience. The opportunity arose to interview  for a junior marketing position in the Wines and Spirits Division at Lascelles  Limited. A few interviews and presentations later, I landed the job and was  promoted after a year to Brand Manager.

How long have you been in the job?

I joined the company in August 2010 and was immediately assigned  to the Local Liqueurs team, the flagship of which is Sangster’s Rum Cream.  Barely a year later, I had full responsibility for the local marketing of this iconic brand.

In August 2012 I was invited to take up the position of Brand  Manager – Imported Wines, Spirits, which I was pleased to accept as I’ve always  had an interest in wines. The Angostura and Burn Stewart brands were later added  to my portfolio.

What’s great about your job?

Everything! No two days are exactly alike. Each day is a learning  experience. The opportunities to get to know each brand, to learn about the  exciting world of wines and spirits and, of course, the sampling – THAT I  definitely enjoy!  I get the opportunity to express my creativity and to use  different aspects of my training and personality.  So far it’s been simply  amazing!

Tell us something we might not know about the Lascelles  Wines and Spirits brands you represent?

Lascelles Limited distributes and markets products from  internationally recognised and award winning wineries and distilleries.

We are extraordinarily proud to be the Jamaican distributor for a number of amazing brands from E&J Gallo, the world’s largest winery. We have recently added their Apothic Red and the ‘green’ brand, The Naked Grape, to our wine portfolio. In addition, we represent the Vina San Pedro Chilean wines as well as the beloved French brand Moreau, among a host of other wine brands.

Also of great interest is our spirits list which has been extended  to include Hine Cognac, the Bunnahabhian 12 and 18 year Single Malt Scotch  Whiskies and the value whisky, Scottish Leader.

Professional and amateur chefs, mixologists and just about  everyone will be excited to learn that we represent Trinidad’s celebrated  Angostura bitters as well as their Lemon Lime & Bitters (LLB) soft  drink.

Why are Lascelles Wines and Spirits attractive options for  consumers?

We offer a fine selection of quality, great tasting wines,  liqueurs, cream liqueurs, rums and spirits at extraordinary prices.

The Lascelles portfolio is a source of pride as our products and  prices appeal to a wide demographic. We also offer an interesting selection of  alcohol free products including Challand, sparkling non-alcoholic fruit juice,  and the LLB (Lemon Lime and Bitters) soft drink.

Where can consumers find out more about your  brands?
