Bill and Camille Cosby are in “dire” financial turmoil. But Camille is too accustomed to their lavish lifestyle to scale back.
The disgraced comedian is in over his head with sexual assault lawsuits and tax liens that have forced him to “liquidate” assets and take out “second mortgages,” Radar Online reports. However, despite the “financial turmoil” the Cosbys are in, Camille is refusing to let go of their personal chef and in-house staff, an insider told Radar Online.
Finances have become a “major issue” in the Cosby household with Bill reportedly “frustrated” with Camille’s refusal to fire their staff that hasn’t been paid in some time. The Cosby Show star is said to have told his wife that they “can’t live that lifestyle” anymore.
Once worth $400 million, Cosby has been hit with a series of sexual assault lawsuits along with two tax liens—one for $88,566.88 and the other for $559,573.77. Cosby also had to pay back $1.8 million he owed in back taxes from the 2015 filing season.
In 2022, Cosby was ordered to pay $500,000 to Judy Huth after a California civil jury found him guilty of assaulting Hath at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 when she was 16.
In June, Cosby was sued by nine additional women for other alleged sexual assaults.
The lawsuit, filed in Nevada federal court accuses Cosby of using “his enormous power, fame, and prestige” to isolate and assault the nine victims, NPR reports. The women say Cosby drugged and assaulted them during encounters that took place between 1979 and 1992 in homes, dressing rooms, and hotels across Nevada.
Last week, Joan Tarshis filed a lawsuit against Cosby accusing him of drugging her and forcing her to perform oral sex on him in 1969 or 1970. She also claims Cosby drugged and raped her during another encounter a year or two later, the Associated Press reported.
Cosby was released from prison in 2021 after serving three years for the 2004 sexual assault of Temple University executive Andrea Constand.
